中考英语阅读理解专练母爱

  慈母手中线,游子身上衣,谁言寸草心,报得三春晖。母爱是世界上最伟大、最无私的,她宽容大度,她不求回报,她为子女付出很多很多……

I’ve loved my mother’s desk since I as just tall enough to see above the of it as mother sat doing letters. Standing by her chair, looking at the ink bottle, pens, and hite paper, I decided that the act of riting must be the more onderful thing in the orld.

Years later, during her final illness, mother kept different things for my sister and brother. “But the desk,” she’d said again, “it’s for Elizabeth. ”

I never sa her angry, never sa her cry. I kne she loved ; she shoed it in action. But as a young girl, I anted heart-to-heart talks beteen mother and daughter.

They never happened. And a gulf opened beteen us. I as “too emotional(易动感情的)”. But she lived “on the surface(表面)”.

As years passed I had my on family. I loved my mother and thanked her for our happy family. I rote to her in careful ords and asked her to let kno in any ay she chose that she did five(原谅) .

I posted the letter and aited for her anser. None ca.

My hope turned to disappointnt(失望), then little interest and, finally, peace— it seed that nothing happened. I uldn’t be sure that the letter had even got to mother. I only kne that I had ritten it, and I uld s trying to make her into soone she as not.

No the present of her desk told, as she’d never been able to, that she as pleased that riting as my chosen ork. I cleaned the desk carefully and found so papers inside —a photo of my father and a one-page letter, folded(折叠) and refolded many tis.

Give an anser, my letter asks, in any ay you choose. Mother, you alays chose the act that speaks louder than ords.
