　　A uple from Miami, Bill and Simone Butler, spent sixty-six days in a life-raft(救生艇) in the seas of Central Arica after their boat sank.

　　Tenty-one days after they left Panama in their boat, Simony, they t so hales(鲸鱼). “They started to hit the side of the boat,” said Bill, “and then suddenly e heard ater.” To minutes later, the boat as sinking. They jumped into the life-raft and atched the boat go under the ater.

　　For tenty days they had tins of food, biscuits, and bottles of ater. They also had a fishing-line and a machine to make salt ater into drinking ater — to things hich saved their lives. They caught eight to ten fish a day and ate them ra(生的). Then the line broke. “So e had no more fish until sothing very strange happened. So sharks(鲨鱼) ca to feed, and the fish under the raft ere afraid and ca to the surface. I caught them ith my hands.”

　　About tenty ships passed them, but no one sa them. After fifty days at sea their life-raft as beginning to break up. Then suddenly it as all over. A fishing boat sa them and picked them up. They uldn’t stand up.

　　So the captain carried them onto his boat and took them to Costa Rica. Their to months at sea as over.
