　　The orld around us is full of lors: the grass is green, the sky is blue. What a pity it ill be if people can not see all the lors. But there are people ho are blind to certain lors.

　　Human lor blindness is a strange thing to explain. In a single eye there aremillions ofvery small things called “nes(锥形物)”. They help us to see in bright light and to tell the difference beteen lors. There are also millions of “rods(视网膜杆)”but they are used for seeing hen it is nearly dark. They sho us shape but not the lor.

　　So birds and animals' eyes have fe or no nes, so they can not see lors. Cats and dogs cannot see lors as ell as e can.

　　So insects(昆虫) can even see X-rays. Scientists kno that there are other lors around us hich insects can see but hich e cannot see.

　　Human beings have favorite lors. Blue is often popular because it is the lor of the ol sky and sea. Green is the lor hich makes us think of grass, field and forest.Yello is the lor of the sun. On the other hand, red is the lor of blood and fire. It makes so people think of aidents, danger and blood. Black is the lor of the night. In the dark e cannot see hat is around us, so e are sotis afraid of the unknon and do not like black as a lor.
